When Ramey and Bill chose Capital Kitchen for their wedding, they booked the whole space, and it showed. From welcome champagne to last dance, every detail had been thought through, right down to the colour of the ribbon on each guest's name card.
The evening opened with bubbles in hand and a summer menu built for a celebration: a pumpkin cream amuse, puffed kohlrabi to start, and then a choice of beef loin, sea bass or ravioli for the main course. Each guest's ribbon colour quietly told the kitchen exactly which plate was coming their way, no questions needed, no delays.
The room itself told its own story. Two hundred and ten small vases of flowers arrived in the afternoon, placed across long tables set for twelve and shorter tables for ten, exactly as planned down to the centimetre. A stylist arrived later to add the finishing touches, and by the time guests sat down, the space felt less like a restaurant and more like something built just for this one night.
Dinner moved into an open bar that ran for hours: champagne, Chablis, Pinot Noir, and a Châteauneuf-du-Pape served in decanters for those who wanted something a little more special. As the night went on, an Espresso Martini or Moscow Mule found its way into more than a few hands, with its own dedicated menu card so no one had to guess what was on offer.
True to its name, dessert was Love is in the Air, and from there the evening shifted gears entirely. A live DJ took over, the cake arrived from Life of Pie, and frites and small bites carried the party through to one in the morning. Somewhere in between, a slice of cheesecake, a marinated chicken bite, or a mini hamburger kept the dancing fuelled.
